Title : Lost

Artist : Myeongjin Kim

Year : 2022

Material / Medium : Acrylic

Size of Artwork : 40.6 x 30.7cm

Award : Winner

Description of Artwork :

Title : Eat Your Heart Out

Artist : Yerin Kang

Year : 2023

Material / Medium : Acrylic paint on canvas board

Size of Artwork : 55 x 46 cm

Award : Gold Medal

Description of Artwork :

My longing to achieve agency manifested into self-destructive indulgences. But how can one be good before evil? As humans, we strive toward liberty. But as beautiful as it is, self-reliance is fragile. Like an oxymoron, the figure eats their heart, a forbidden fruit, to survive. This piece questions the existence of independence with the lack of an observer that perceives.

Title : Devastated Days

Artist : Myeongjin Kim

Year : 2023

Material / Medium : Acrylic

Size of Artwork : 39.4 x 27.4cm

Award : Gold Medal

Description of Artwork :

Title : The trivialities

Artist : Ella Jang

Year : 2022

Material / Medium : Paper, color pencil

Size of Artwork : 54.5 x 78.8 cm

Award : Gold Medal

Description of Artwork :

I would like to introduce the trivialities of my daily life. The things I considered trivial are actually very simple and ordinary, yet they are the most special. The mask strap that I used instead of the lost rubber band, the worn-out shoelaces, socks with holes from excessive use, the straw in my drink that reveals my anxiety, the school uniform skirt that I wear every day, and the story of the lighthouse. All these trivialities accurately and uniquely describe my daily life and who I am as a person. The reason why I chose "The Story of Our Lighthouses and Lightships" as my base material is also because of my childhood trivialities. When I saw the lighthouse that always stood in the same spot on the quiet sea, I realized its significant role that I had passed by trivially. Like the lighthouse that fills the darkness and silence with light in the same spot, my trivial daily life fills my life without lacking any special quality.

Title : The Last Supper

Artist : SiYeon Kim

Year : 2022

Material / Medium : acrylics on canvas

Size of Artwork : 21 X 33 cm

Award : Silver Medal

Description of Artwork :

Title : Leap

Artist : Min gyong Ji

Year : 2023

Material / Medium : Acrylic, Oil Pastel

Size of Artwork : 72.7×60.6cm

Award : Bronze Medal

Description of Artwork :

Title : population density
Artist : Jiyu Lee

Year : 2023

Material / Medium : pen

Size of Artwork : 60 x 48cm

Award : Silver Medal

Description of Artwork :

Title :

Artist : Nahyun Kim

Year : 2021

Material / Medium : Oil painting on MDF board

Size of Artwork : 70 x 50 cm

Award :  Bronze Medal

Description of Artwork :

Size of Artwork : 21.4 x 15.5cm

Description of Artwork :

While attending a foreign language school and focusing solely on studying, I discovered my first passion: art. The day I stepped foot into my first art academy, I was overwhelmed with complex emotions. I had thought I would only feel excitement, but instead, I felt a mixture of nervousness, apprehension, and responsibility. However, I vividly remember the moment I mustered up the courage to climb just one flight of stairs at the academy. It was in that moment that I fully committed myself to pursuing art and vividly expressed the emotions I felt at that time.

Title : Subway=Me

Artist : Jubin Park

Year : 2023

Material / Medium : Paper, color pencil

Size of Artwork : 44.5 x 58.8 cm

Award : Gold Medal

Description of Artwork :

"As I ride the subway towards my destination, I can't help but see myself in it. As a student preparing for college, I suddenly pause as I cross Dongho bridge and watch the subway rush towards its destination. It's just like me, heading towards an objective in a racehorse-like sprint. And the tough iron doors surrounding the subway feel like they're trapping me in reality. Although there are various paths to take towards your destination, the subway always heads towards the same direction, echoing my daily life routine. In a moment, I imagine what if I remove the iron doors of reality, would the direction of the subway change and my own direction change as well? I try to recreate that scene in my mind."

Material / Medium : oil

Size of Artwork : 60x73cm

Award : Bronze Medal

Description of Artwork :

Title : Emptiness

Artist : Hayeong Lee

Year : 2023

Material / Medium : charcoal, pastel

Size of Artwork : 47.5 X 69.6cm

Award : Bronze Medal
