K&P Painting

  The contest is hosted by MySLide corp. and Arté : The Institution of Culture & Art Contents with K&P Gallery. New York. The contest accepts applicants from 13:00 p.m. (Thu) on July 28, 2022 to 23:00 p.m. (Thu) on August 11, 2022. The submitted and selected works will be fairly evaluated by the judge from both the institution and the organizer.


   The ultimate goal for this upcoming contest is to provide young artists to pave their artistic path and feel self assured by their works of art. The winning works will be offered an opportunity to exhibit at K&P Gallery in New York.


  K&P Gallery is located at Chelsea, the center of New York, and provides remarkable contemporary art collections. Founded in 2010, K&P Gallery is internationally renowned for selling works of art in South Korea. After moving to Chelsea in 2015, K&P Gallery presented works of art from more than 300 worldwide artists. Also, the gallery provides an open space to support passionate artists and audiences or collectors who visit to appreciate the collection. Furthermore, the K&P gallery continuously promotes various events and collaborative projects which comprises artists, clients, and collectors. 


  Supported by the Arté : The Institution of Culture & Art Contents and MySLide, the K&P Painting Competition adds up to the numerous international projects by pursuing upcoming international interests and encouraging young artists to jump into a worldwide stage in the field of art.

Contest Information

  • Title: 2022 K&P Painting Contest
  • Size of Paper: 53cm x 45.5 cm canvas or 39.4cm x 54.5cm paper 
  • Medium: Painting (digital art excluded)
  • Theme: Free
    ○  Both title(less than 50 words) and description(less than 50 words) should be attached (English)
  • Qualification for participation: Students aged 13 to 19 years old and students with GED
  • Application Period: 2022. 7. 28 (Thu) ~ 8.11 (Thu) 23:00 p.m.
  • Winner Announcement: Winners will be announced through registered email 
  • Judging Committee: Current artists and professors in South Korea
  • Application Fee: $8.00
    ○  Multiple works can be submitted through same ID
        (No limitation to entries per person)
  • Nomination Date: 2022. 8. 17
  • Award Nominee: Approximately 30 artworks

Award Content

  • Winner: 
    Certificate of award, Qualification to participate in the New York K&P Gallery offline exhibition(Exhibition participation fee, photograph fee, work delivery fee fully paid by the institution), Exhibition participation certificate and exhibition photograph will be provided to the winners who participated in the offline exhibition
  • Gold Medal: 
    Certificate of award, Qualification to participate in the New York K&P Gallery offline exhibition( $530 paid by the institution), exhibition participation certificate and exhibition photograph will be provided to the winners who participated in the offline exhibition
  • Silver Medal:
    Certificate of award, Qualification to participate in the New York K&P Gallery offline exhibition( $380 paid by the institution), exhibition participation certificate and exhibition photograph will be provided to the winners who participated in the offline exhibition
  • Bronze Medal:
    Certificate of award, Qualification to participate in the New York K&P Gallery offline exhibition( $230 paid by the institution), exhibition participation certificate and exhibition photograph will be provided to the winners who participated in the offline exhibition

  • Online registration will be made through art contest online application solution portfolioroom.org (mobile application is also available)
  • Join membership by entering member information after email access
      ○  The accurate address of winner and contact of the guardian are required for prize delivery and work restitution
  • Enter ‘2022 K&P Painting Contest’ page which is found in the announcement list 
  • Upload the photograph of the work and enter work related information 
      ○  If more than one work is submitted, please upload several image through the upload page 
  • Final submission after consent of application and payment

Offline Exhibition Information 

  • Qualification of exhibition:
    The admitted works will be qualified for exhibition at K&P Gallery. New York 
  • Location: K&P Gallery. New York.

  • Exhibition Date: 2022. 9. 15 ~ 2022. 9. 21
  • Exhibition Photograph: The photograph of the exhibition space will be provided to the winners
  • Exhibition Fee:
    ○ Winner: exhibition fee fully paid [exhibition participation fee, admitted works delivery fee, exhibition photograph : free]
    ○ Gold Medal: 70% of the exhibition fee will be provided [exhibition participation fee, admitted works delivery fee, exhibition photograph : $530]
    ○ Silver Medal: 50% of the exhibition fee will be provided [exhibition participation fee, admitted works delivery fee, exhibition photograph : $380]
    ○ Bronze Medal: 30% of the exhibition fee will be provided [exhibition participation fee, admitted works delivery fee, exhibition photograph : $230]

Exhibition Work Delivery

  • Please check the following information regarding the work delivery for the exhibition located in New York, US
  • Admitted works in South Korea will be collected from the institution through insurance process of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry trade center and delivered and exhibited in the US gallery
  • Admitted works from other countries will be directly delivered to the department of the US gallery 
  • Date of exhibition and sale consent of admitted work: 2022. 8. 24 (Wed) ~ 8. 24 (wed) 23:00
      ○  If consent is not given, the admission will not be canceled but the advantage will be granted to the next winner
  • Delivery Period: 2022. 8. 24 (wed) ~ 8. 30 (Tue) 
      ○  The works with consignor information will be transported 

Works on Sale 

  • Sale content: During the exhibition, we are open for the sale of artwork to visitors who visit the gallery.
  • Sales Price : The sale price will be fixed by $500
  • Profit Donation :  Excluding sales and other profits, the profit will be donated to UNICEF under the author’s name and some of the remaining amounts will be sent to the winner.

Notification Regarding Exhibition

  • If the work is admitted, detailed agenda about the exhibition and sale consent will be sent to the registered email 
  • Admitted works in Korea will be delivered to the exhibition gallery after insurance registration made in primary collection place
  • Work delivery should be made before the deadline (8. 30. (Tue)) and foreign delivery will be made for the work that has invoice mail that meets before the deadline. Please send the work beforehand to prevent any exceptions. 
  • The exhibition participation and exhibition fee will not be refunded if the invoice mail is not inscribed or the work is not properly delivered under the sender's responsibility. Also, the exhibition certification will not be published and the institution will not undertake the responsibility regarding this issue. 
  • After exhibition, the award, exhibition certification, and the work restitution will be sent based on the information received in the application site portfolioroom.org The institution will not be responsible for the loss and damage made by the incorrect address inscription 
  • If the works are on sale during the exhibition, the works with sale consent will be sent to the buyer after the exhibition. Sale certification and receipt will be sent to the author and donation to UNICEF will be made under author’s name after receiving donation consent. 
  • The download link of the exhibition photograph and video will be sent to the registered email after 2~3 weeks of exhibition finale
