복잡하게 얽힌 감정을 꺼내어 표현하면 마음이 비워질 줄 알았습니다. 옷장 속 얽힌 옷처럼, 감정을 풀어내면 가벼워질 거라 믿었기 때문입니다. 하지만 그 감정들은 거울처럼 정리된 모습으로 다시 나에게 돌아왔습니다. 이 작업은 감정을 단순히 흘려보내는 것이 아니라, 되돌아오며 나 자신을 다시 마주하는 과정입니다. 거울, 옷, 리본 등의 시각 요소는 얽힘과 정리, 나와 나 사이의 거리를 상징하며, 표현을 통해 감정이 순환하고 재정립되는 순간을 담고자 했습니다.

이 작품은 할머니에서 어머니를 거쳐 나에게 이어져 온 모성애의 계보를 시각적으로 기록하고자 한 시도이다. 나는 한올 한올 정성스레 떠진 옷을 다시 그림으로 필사하듯 재현하는 방식을 통해, 보이지 않는 헌신과 희생을 형상화하였다. 밝은 배경 위에 놓인 옷은 단순해 보이지만, 세밀히 들여다보면 수없이 겹쳐진 붓질과 선이 쌓이고 쌓인 오랜시간의 정성이 스며 있다. 이는 마치 실제 손으로 짠 옷 속에 스며 있는 사랑과 노고처럼, 시각적으로는 미세하나 감각적으로는 깊이 있는 표현이다. 작업에는 캔버스에 유화를 기본으로, 미세한 결을 살리기 위해 흰색 펜과 연필을 병용하였다. 이를 통해 실제 옷의 질감과 손의 노동을 느낄 수 있는 시각적 경험을 구현하였다.

Some emotions feel like mine, but they didn't start from me. They arrive without words or eye contact, passed on quietly , and eventually settle as something I fully feel. That is the emotion I feel, and it is a feeling passed onto me. The figures exist in the same space but avoid each other's gaze. They face different directions and remain disconnected, yet there is a quiet tensions between them. That tension is the flow of emotion that moves without being spoken. Twisted forms, overlapping hands, and fragmented gazes show the unclear and incomplete state of emotions in transmission. The boundaries between forms are intentionally blurred, broken, or dispersed reflecting the points of collision where emotion shift. The central figure looks directly forward, capturing the moment when someone else's emotion enters and becomes one's own. There is no specific story or event. It is the process in which unseen but certain emotions are transferred and become mine.
